When driving along the historic Oakville waterfront, one’s eyes cannot help but be drawn to the striking gates of the Town’s modern day castle, Chelster Hall. Known as one of Canada’s most prestigious private estates, the mystery and allure of Chelster Hall is irresistible.
While Oakville is known as the home of some of Canada’s most impressive real estate, none of it compares to the extraordinary estate known as Chelster Hall. Originally constructed in 2006, this breathtaking home lays on 10 acres of Canada’s Gold Coast on Lake Ontario. The home itself is a remarkable 38,000 sq. ft. and reminiscent of the Gatsby age. Hiding inside all of this space is a two-storey library with over 3,000 books to browse, a formal dining room with a table that sits up to 16 people complete with Swarovski crystal chandelier and many upstairs bedrooms that display family heirlooms and other treasures that owners, Hugo and Tracy Powell, have collected during their lifetime.
The Powells have lived within the vast hallways of Chelster Hall since it was built in 2006. They describe the inspiration for its design and architecture as stemming from Norfolk in the owells used to visit Blickling Hall often when they visited Hugo’s mother in England. He commissioned architect William Hicks to help him emulate the English estate in what would become Chelster Hall.
After a decade of creating wonderful memories with friends and family within their dream estate, the Powells have decided it is time to let someone else enjoy the masterpiece they have created. Chelster Hall is currently for sale by The Invidiata Team. Mr. Pestate as much as they have.
